If you like the dress, you look good in it, and you feel good about yourself, who cares where you get it? You aren’t going to wear a sign around your neck that announces to everyone at the dance that says "This dress has been worn before!" are you? You might even want to check out http://www.freecycle.com You might find one for free.
If you’re lucky you can find one that fits and also looks really nice.
IF IT LOOKS GOOD, GO FOR IT…JUST TAKE IT TO THE DRY CLEANERS…
Depends, if you find a good dress but it’s not your size, you could take it to get alterated or fitted somewhere. Sometimes that can be costly though. I usually buy all sorts of clothing at the goodwill. Sometimes you can find good things at yard sales. Some churchs or schools will have sales for donated prom dresses. You may get lucky and find something good at the thrift stores, but then again, you may not. Good luck!
well i would look to see if the dress you want is there. first
I actually got all three of my prom dresses, and two of my homecoming dresses there, cheap, cute looking and gives you the cash to spend on shoes and your hair and stuff!
good will is a great idea just put little accessoies on it and spruce it up! make ur style and u’ll have a great night!! have fun!(thats soo kool that u got asked by a jonoir!)
i woulnt care.. just go and get it if it looks good…
im with lady if it looks good and most importantly if you look good in it go for it just make sure you take it to the cleaners
sure why not……..not everyone is going to be shopping at goodwill
Why pay an arm and a leg for something you will most likly wear once? GO for it
You can find lots of unique things at goodwill. I don’t know why people make such a big deal about shopping there. You can sve tons of money and find something that is one of a kind if you’re lucky. Don’t get frustrated though, becuase you may have to shop around a bit, goodwill can be hit or miss. Good luck
GOOD WILL IS FINE THEY HAVE VERY NICE CLOTHES AT SOME OF THEM CHECK THEM OUT
If you can find a good one, go for it. I don’t find any reason to spend a lot of money to buy a dress for one night. It’s just a waste. It’s usually people who are shallow-minded that want to spend a lot of money to look nice on the outside but neglect to understand that, whats important is not whats on you, but whats in you…
Goodwill and other stores selling used clothes are sometimes a treasure trove for unique prom dresses. Aside from Goodwill, there are sometimes smaller stores run by civic groups or charity organizations like the local animal shelter or nonprofit hospital. Try those places, too! Besides, who’s to know whether the dress is new or used? That, and you’ll get a kick out of knowing that you saved so much on a great dress.
Go for it you have nothing to loose. You can also go to JC penny or something.
Why not? It’s not worth it to spend $200+ on a dress you’ll wear once. You can sometimes get cool dresses secondhand.
If you have a financial need, there’s also organizations like Fairy Godmothers who collect donated prom dresses to distribute to teens.
I say if you can find a nice one at goodwill and save a bunch of money – go for it! You’re probably only going to wear it once, right? So why spend $250+ on it
It’s a great idea! You can find some really cool stuff there especialy if you like vintage stuff! Very funky and realativly cheap, also if you need alterations you can afford to have them done since you didn’t shell out all of your money on the dress! Good Luck
First, congrats on being asked! That’s exciting. Goodwill can have some amazing stuff, but it’s pretty hard to find formal dresses there. You might have better luck at a consignment shop. Also, ask around about borrowing one. You’d be suprised at how many people would be willing to loan one. You could also check online sales like ebay, or go to a retro store. They have amazing buys for cheap, and you’d look totally original. Have fun!!
well if they r cute at good will then get one there and if not then good luck it doesn’t matter were they come from as long as they r cute
You never know, you may find a good "vintage" piece. or a really cute original!
I don’t see why not. You may even find a hot retro dress there that you can accessorize to be dynamite. I did that for my senior prom, ant it was a knockout I had seamed stockings and everything.
Smart thinking! Why spend a lot of money if you can find one that you’ll like from goodwill? Then, take the extra money that you saved and buy yourself something special! Don’t worry–nobody will ever know it came from goodwill, just don’t tell! ;0)
Good luck!
There are really cute and cheap prom dresses at some stores
well some aren’t prom but they could be
Go to the mall this weekend look around there will be a cute dress that would go good for prom…trust me
anyways if you think the dress is cute at good will go for it just don’t tell anybody and it’ll be ok..
Good Luck
If it looks good and has a nice fit to your body… then go for it!!! There is really nothing bad buying stuff at the Good Will other than you will save a ton of money!!! Trust me… I recently had my prom and spent 200 on the dress… BIG MISTAKE… you know that after prom you will never use that dress other than another special occasion. Besides I bought a trench coat at the good will and after taking it to the dry cleaners it looked good as new… most of my friends want to know where I bought it… but that’s my secret!!!
I would jus dress it up with some jewlery of other accessories i’m wearing a garterbelt and stockings to mine and my date is already going nuts
I think you should atleast browse for one atb the good will.I know that my sister found her dress for her junior prom at the goodwill. She paid $14 dollars for a $300 dollar dress.Good Luck.
Great idea. You might find something. Next year will cost.
